Is that the motto for the much hyped Less and Slave world tour?

I agree with the clean shaven ethic (and my lady friends seem to like it), but for the most part, I think I will stick with the boyzilian route, although perhaps I should lay into one of these shavers for when my waxer lady goes on vacay.

much thanks,

It is difficult to think of a demographic that ad doesn't insult.

So, i've pretty much totally outed myself with many of the stories I've told here so here's another piece of outable info: I just got engaged!

So, anybody want to pony up some advice? Preferably amusing advice instead of depressing advice? This will be a first marriage for both of us.

I actually have some etiquette questions that I think I know the answer to but would like some reinforcement. For example, we are going to elope. But I know that people in his family and my family are going to want to buy us wedding gifts even though we're not having a wedding. Would it be tacky to register even if we're not having a wedding? I wouldn't announce to people that we had registered but if people asked me (or my mother), I would let them know. How tacky is this? Where is Debtslave?

http://adage.com/print?article_id=118624 A discussion with links to other discussions of the ads. I think the first one, that style of shirt is really not made for chunky people, esp with big breasts -- it's like the least flattering ever. The other two are kinda hot, for men who do like women who are festive.

ETA and I think it may not at all offend the Slave/TM/Mr. Phoenix demographic.

Congratulations. Don't just register - have a party as well - your haul will be multiplied. If either of you have roots in the Midwest or even the Southeast, you can probably get away with pot-luck.

One other quick piece of advice - a couple of last flings couldn't hurt.

First of all CONGRATS! [and Mazel Tov]

I don't think it is tacky to register. Just helps your friends and family know some guidelines as to what you two want. Do you know where you wish to register? The usual suspects or more off beat stores?

2. re engagement party they are fun.

I strongly recommend this book. I read it at some friends' house when they were planning their wedding, and then I went and found my own copy after I got engaged. There's so much wedding-oriented stuff that tells you that you have to do certain things, but this book is really good at giving you a sense of different possibilities. I'm not keen on traditional weddings myself. We decided that we wanted our wedding to be like a down-to-earth party for our families and friends, and so that's what we did.

If you decide to have a party, and get it videotaped, take off the videographer's microphone before soliciting your new spouse for sex....oh, you meant engagement advice?

In addition to other excellent advice that you may receive about registering for lots and lots and lots of stuff at Crate & Barrel and/or Williams Sonoma, because of their excellent return policies, consider registering for fine china. That is something on which you never will want to spend your own money, but, when you host a family dinner (Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc.), you will be happy to have it.
