Question for GWNC

One is that he is my internet boyfriend because after I introduced him to this place, he took on an internet persona here. The third point of view is that he is actually an ncs sock that I created because I am so afraid of being alone that I pretend to have a boyfriend on the internet.
I believe the first option is correct, but reasonable minds may quibble. As you two met over the internet, I don't think option 1 is open to you. Thusly, RT is both your real life (if y'all are to be believed) and internet girlfriend.
If I knew latin, I'd throw some appropriate phrase in right here.
I assume parri passu is not appropriate. Damn.

I disagree. Meeting on the internet is irrelevant.
When you have an internet boyfriend, he is your boyfriend only on the internet. Kind of like how Hank is 6'11" on the internet.
Once your internet boyfriend and you meet in real life and become actual boyfriend and girlfriend, he becomes your real life boyfriend. Now, he may still be your internet boyfriend, if there's a community of people who still think of you that way.
So, by way of example, balt is RT's real-life boyfriend. He is not, nor was he ever, her internet boyfriend, because none of us knew he was her boyfriend until he really was.
On the other hand, let's assume for a moment that dtb and Shifter have never really met. But they are boyfriend and girlfriend on the internet only. He is her internet boyfriend. Should they ever take their relationship into the real world, he could, ostensibly, become her real boyfriend.
Nonetheless, the use of the term "boyfriend" by women my age is absolutely ridiculous.
