If that's the standard around here, you need to switch your avatar over to the pre-Jenny Craig Kirstie Alley.

You're not very subtle. Fringey is. The cat is a well-known symbol of spinsterhood, which is in turn a well-known result of fatness. Fringey is playing on her own image.

I'm a hissing cat. Christ. Get over yourself.

Not Bob, you need to get the Cinderella (or whoever) song to play to go with the Nobody's Fool avatar -- which, actually, I think is inapposite (look that up, ncs). You aren't an upstate NY kind of guy. Or, your persona isn't. I don't think they have Piggly Wigglys up there.

Listen, I am not inside your head and don't know how you "picture" me. But I've had lots of avatars and some that people bitched about. TM made me change the cat with the tennis ball on his head. Even though I liked that one.

Nice use of passive voice. But the avatars do have an identifying quality, regardless of how suitable others might think they are. When I read the Board without avatars I frequently mistake the speaker. And I am not as generally addled as some others.

And it's hissing. I'm mean and fat (not jolly and fat) (like Santa, or whatever) (I mean, if I were Santa, kids would get nothing or just coal) (and they would have to promise not to burn the coal because it's very polluting).

Much of upstate New York is quite similar to the Deep South. However you are correct on the No Piggly Wigglys front. Though I've never exactly understood why they are widespread in Wisconsin.

I disagree. There are no minorities in upstate NY, and I think the fact that there are severe winters makes for quite a different character.

Wisconsin is friendly (in some ways), much like the deep south.

If you don't believe that portions of upstate are like the Deep South, spend a few weeks in Plattsburgh sometime. Though I don't advise it between September and May.

I agree. And I assume the other classic Black and White avatar is Maude. If not, I got some sweet backups. However, I think people should strive for avatars that have a trademark like quality.

Off the op of my head I think some avatars in this category are:

1) RT's
2) Slave's former scotch bottle.
3) TM's
4) ABBAKiss
5) ltl/fb
6) Hank
7) NotBob ( a black and white goodie, though if he switcehd to a characer out of Nobody's Fool that would work also)

Avatars I kind of like but could be improved

1) Coltrane. I think thats the guy from American Pie, right? I liked his frat one better, but that works. I might go with Ashton Kutcher in his Kaballah bunny outfit.

2) Gwink. The torso is good but I sense you could do better.

Avatars that completely miss

1) Rimmers. I don't see him as Ed Norton giving the finger. I had an avatar idea for him recently but am not recalling it at the moment as I am swamped and cant give this much thought.

2) Shape Shifter. Sorry, dude, but yoiur socks have away better avatars than you.

3) NFH/RP. There are two avatars that are pretty fucking far from thei image these folks convey

4) Less. I just don't like it. How about something in a Ryan Seacrest?

5) sunnybunny- I don't even remember what she has, but I know she had paris hilton for awhile. I think TM's blue crayon pony would work.

6) anything by mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I didn't even realize that was buster. I thought it was Tim Curry from some movie from the 70s.

I think Adl should switch his to puertorican dice.
I was trying to pm you to tell you how full of shit you are (SS and Gwink are great, and the tongue-in-cheekness is what makes NFH's) , but your mailbox is full, so I'll just tell you here. And clean out your mailbox.
