Actually, it seems like T-Mobile has more real strong climbers -- Ullrich, Kloeden and Guerini versus Lance and Azevedo. Rubiera should be there, but it was Landis yesterday, and who knows where Checu went. |

NHL
I've not been following the NHL labor dispute that closely, but I love this cartoon on ESPN page 2:

When is this fucking race over? A good race lasts at most an hour. I can watch about 10 min of this race, then I feel like one of those dim labrador retrievers I see running after bicycle tires (why are dogs fascinated by spinning things?). And the funny thing is, I like biking. Guess its like golf - fun to play, horrible to watch. Or maybe my attention span is just that short.* When's the America's Cup. That one's always a barn burner. I wonder what space age designed boat Larry Ellison will sponsor this year. My personal theory is that no one actually enjoys watching this race but the 1% who actually understand sailing. But people watch anyway because its just one of those cultured things to do. I've sailed. In fact, a family member owns a boat. Its fun. Its nice. You put it in the water and catch a breeze and manuever the fucker. Pleasant. Some cat from Denver I knew in college used to watch America's Cup like it was the Super Bowl. I don't think he'd ever even been on a boat (unless there's some geopgraphy in Colorado of which the folks at Rand McNally aren't aware...). But it was cool. And he was cool. Boats. Neat. *I personally hope some French guy wins the race. Give them some thimble full of pride about something. |

That's all I feel for CNN and its ilk at this moment. I'm not sure that I will ever view cnn.com again after the abomination of a story that is being covered there as news as we speak. Sure, I was annoyed when they turned the Laci Peterson story into THE MOST IMPORTANT STORY IN AMERICA. And I've scoffed at their attempts at "journalism" on more than one occasion. But, seriously, is "Jenna Bush Sticks Out Tongue" really newsworthy? Really?
And if I cut out cnn and msnbc, what am I left with? Yes, I know. My only other source for news. The Daily Show. Fuck the rest. |

Leave us with a few illusions, please. Oh, and you can't play "speeding motorist willing to do anything to avoid getting another ticket and losing his license/hot state trooper motorcycle chick" with only a vibrator. |
