I've stayed in the 9th. I quite liked it.

This makes me want to see Watchmen, about which I was otherwise meh.

Have you read the graphic novel? I'm torn, because I love the graphic novel, and I'm not quite sure that it could be pulled off. I've read quite a few reactions to the film, and they vary so widely that I'm not sure that I'll be able to gauge unless I see it myself.

I don't really trust Zach Snyder to get the concept of subltety or layers, so I'm not hoping for much.

Still, that opening sequence that sums up the Minutemen backstory was quite well done. Hmmmm.

I read the graphic novel in the last six months, and was underwhelmed, but perhaps my expectations were too high. It was good, but not great. Since I've read it, I've seen some discussion (by Scott Eric Kaufmann, at Acephelous and Edge of the American West, if you're interested) about the way it's written that makes me think I missed some of the craft. I've also seen SEK say that Snyder got a lot of the story but missed other aspects of what made the novel special. So maybe the movie is a disappointment to big fans, but I wasn't in that category, so I might like it.

That's one of the discussions I read. I also read Amanda Marcotte's over at Pandagon. The discusssion thread was particularly interesting.

dtb, gwincky and abba wake up one morning in a third floor walk up apartment, naked. they see a skirt, a long blouse and a pair of shoes on the floor. the three have 20 minutes to get to another apartment three blocks away. how should they go about getting there on time?

partial credit maybe, but not much for creativity points, and you don't explain how they cover the fare.
