So, as I'm considering replacement earphones, what sort of thing would y'all recommend?

These are my requirements:
  1. Cannot be a minivan.
  2. Cannot look like a minivan.
  3. Price tag of no more than two digits, and preferably not high two digits. Yes, my ears are worth it, but a higher price will ensure that I will lose them promptly, while a lower price will ensure I never lose them.
  4. Must be small enough to comfortably put in a pocket and not really show.
  5. Good sound.
  6. There is no 6.

Help me Lawtalkers, you're my only hope. (Said in voice of Christopher Walken in his screen test for Star Wars.)

Impressive. Most impressive. But you are not a Jedi...yet.

Bose makes a really nice set of earbud phones. They're comfortable and have great sound. Their only drawback is that the soft plastic earpieces can fall off and potentially get lost if you don't store them properly...like in the bottom of your briefcase.

Your neighbors would be green with envy!

(Especially with the optional horsetrailer and gunrack).

That is so fuckin' cool! Somewhere, Bilmore just got a chubby.

A family member just got one. Seems like a nice car, but I'm hard pressed to come up with an uglier vehicle. The closer you get to it, the more hideous the thing appears. Goddamn abominable, frankly. I didn't want to be seen exiting it.

Pick up a used Landcruiser. You can easily get 200k miles out of them and they're selling for super depressed prices because of the gas mileage. Some say their consumption (it's only akin to that of your average motorhome, really) is a downside. Bollocks to that. When society collapses into a post-apocalyptic moonscape in a few months, this is the truck you want.

Or a 4Runner. But you lose a good bit of elbow room there. And you can't mount a 30mm cannon on them as easily.

Call me mad, but I read Newsweek and watch the MSNBC. The populists are coming for you landowners out in Versailles territory. David Shuster never lies.*

To me, that says, "Jack! I'm ready to shoot RIGHT NOW!"

Or maybe, "Yeah, well this is imported Italian nylon."

But I definitely think it says, "You're not the boss of me, Jack. You're not the king of Dirk. I'm the boss of me. I'm the king of me."

Sex is the last thing on their minds. They just want to know if an alien is going to burst from his gut during the match.

No sympathy

The Swedish countess who needs $53,000 a week to cover expenses apparently hasn't been watching the news or she'd realize she's not going to get a lot of sympathy from the general public.http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29760888/

On the other hand her soon-to-be ex-husband isn't much better. In a different story he says his living expenses are $100,000 a week.

Personally, I think $43MM for 7 years of marriage isn't such a bad deal. If she takes it without a fuss she has a better chance of landing another sugar daddy.

is hot for a governor a lower standard-
  • Granholm not apologizing for Palin joke
Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm made the joke at a Washington dinner on Saturday.
WASHINGTON (CNN) – Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm said she won't apologize to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for her crack at last weekend's Gridiron Dinner that the former Republican vice presidential candidate "really set back the cause of hot governors."

because I've listening to her speak and never popped wood-

i guess she is cute*, but something about the office is a turnoff- I'm not sure there is a GILF around.

*and she has some serious mole issues that you can't see in that shot.

Interesting that she is primarily described as a countess when the money in question comes is the result of good old American corporate executive compensation.

The Revolutionary War didn't diminish our fascination with "royalty."
