A Friendly Correction for those Man-Haters who Delve to be Single

I did not notice that I had the penultimate post or I would have captured my first K. On the other hand, the more pressing engagement that kept me from noticing was worth the loss.

TCOTU restaurant recommendation

A younger family member just moved from Buffalo to Brooklyn and is enjoying being all cosmopolitan and shit. I would like to give him and his girlfriend a gift certificate to a restaurant in Park Slope or lower Manhattan, and need a recommendation about where to send him. Would like to give him $150 to send him somewhere that will buy dinner with a couple of drinks (they are not big drinkers), and would put good food over flash. Any suggestions?

Why Park Slope?

I love Queen in Bk Hghts. Roberta's in Bushwick is hipster cool. But w/o drinks I can't imagine a Bk restaurant that will hit $150. There are a couple place that have 20 course tasting meals, but you have to call one morning to get a reservation, and cross your fingers.

downtown? Tribeca Grille?

And actually, especially this time of year, the restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental (UWS) is a stunning view of the park, if you can get near the window.

and this http://dinersjournal.blogs.nytimes.c...-at-the-nomad/ is the bestest meal ever- but reservations are impossible- make a call try to get one, because they will love you forever if you get them this meal. They put butter on radishes.

Maybe so. But he's my douchebag. Or he possibly could have been if I weren't such a rude man-hater. Le sigh.

Yes. http://charno4.com/about/ Great spot in Brooklyn.

By the way, it sounds like they live in Park Slope (because Park Slope ain't known for its restaurants). If you're gonna send someone into Manhattan from there, you might as well send them all the way in.

Park Slope was Ms. Slothrop's suggestion -- not sure why she said that.

eta: Char No.4 looks like a place I'd gladly go if I didn't live so far away.
