Goodell or Brady. Brady or Goodell. Any discussion of who to root for, passionately, in Deflategate, should only be compared with an inquiry into whether Burgess Meredeth’s Penguin was a superior acting performance over Ceasar Romero’s Joker. This Deflategate horse has been flogged to death, revived, flogged, shot, and beheaded.
I beg the group: New sports topic. Serena gets the calendar slam. Even odds. Discuss.

Hats off to Burger for pulling us out of the miasma that is sporting debate. I wonder how we ever got this far away from our roots.

I'd do a stick figure diagram a la Ruysbroeck, but I can't draw anywhere near as well as he can.

Good work, Goodell," is a joke.

Unclear what the NFLPA was smoking when they agreed to that.

Deflate gate is worth being able to say "Tom Brady's balls"ad infinitum.

I think they were smoking spliffs lit by $100 bills.

Although they say they didn't actually agree to let Goodell hear appeals from his own decisions.

For whatever reason (there are many theories), the NFLPA is considered one of the weakest unions in professional sports. Recall that player contracts are not guaranteed and a player can be cut at any time and won't even get paid for the remaining games in that season. I suspect that they really didn't have much choice but to accept the "I, The Jury ... And Judge and Appellate Court, Too" provision in the CBA.

And some savvy negotiators who are playing with a weak hand have been known to agree to outrageous provisions with the expectation that when push comes to shove there's a chance it might be ruled unenforceable.

You say you're not from Texas, as if I couldn't tell.

Really interesting article (thanks, TM). It may help explain why the Texans' owner felt justified the other day in saying something like "seems like Arian has a soft tissue injury every year." Not like there will be fan outrage, right? If he had only been washed in the blood of the lamb ....

Teague for two

O.K., so like the U of M(inn) athletic director resigned after a bunch of harassing texts, including the following wonderfully scarily bizarre ones:

My question is, what is "flat and mega tongue on clit"? Is that a thing, other than just run-of-the-mill cunnilingus? I'm afraid to Google it.

I assumed it was a drunken typo or autocorrect, but who knows.

Always nice to have another incident to make you proud of the old alma mater.
