2. I drink Tullys. or Peets.

I can see going from being a solo to a legal assistant, but a partner at a large firm....no. I think there's something missing from the picture. Probably a psychotic episode or two.

dim fuck. hire her. you can just set your workload on her desk- have her create the work AND type- mail etc. You could post even more! Win-win for you!!!!
I like the theory, but it's too perfect. It's all fun and games until she stalks you and boils your bunny.

2. The only thing worse than being a lawyer is working for one.

I have never understood why paralegals ever go on to law school. They see the absolute worst part of the profession, yet still persist?

Why can't this woman downgrade to some kind of cushy of counsel spot that's part time.
2. Its nuts. She said she felt comfortable in the law, just wanted a non-substantive position. Nuts.,

This is outable, but whatever, I interviewed a secretarial candidate today, and what came out, that was not on her resume, was that up until a year ago, she was a partner at a large firm in another city. She left to on sabbatical and decided to not go back. She says she wants an easy 9-5 job in an area she knows without any pressure. I think this is fucked up.

Question, if you quit practising is there even a remote likliehood that you would go back to a lawfirm as an admin staff person?

For me, the answer is never. I would kill myself first and give my family the $4MM life insurance policy. Seriously.
No I'd be a lawyer, doing paralegal work while surfing porn and collecting referral fees.

If she was a 1st year associate that quit to be a para, maybe I'd believe it. More than likely there is something between her and a law license.

No, it's gotta be more than that. I would suspect drug use or stealing money.

Criminal. Background. Check.

Why the "sabbatical?" Did it involve a stay at a "resort" at all? Pretty much any kind of stay involving locks on the outside?

I didn't really go too deep into it. I get worried about personal questions and tripping some employment law no no.

How about the guy from Hunton who embezzled the tens of milllions of client funds and is still on the run, he made partner, yes? I don't think partnership is a bar to criminal behaviour, present company excepted.
