Vermont and Western MA
Burger makes a good point that I have left out the center of the New England (western MA and Vermont), and he is absolutely correct so here it is. I have almost no experience with these legal markets, although one of my cases kept me in North Adams for 8 weeks.
If anyone has ideas for polls, questions, or comments they would like to post, please feel free to e-mail them to me at nyerinexile@hotmail.com. Thanks, nyerinexile:brick: |
On the Maine and New Hampshire board, I listed the best regional firms for Maine. I have no idea how to divide this area into geographical legal markets, except by Western MA and Vermont. If anyone can offer a ranking of the firms in these areas (or has a better method for dividing the legal markets), please do so. It will provide folks seeking information a useful reference, and might also spur some debate.

Non-law Vermont questions
I will be in Vermont for a wedding this summer (Stowe). I've only been there during ski season, can anyone recommend things to do, places to go, etc? I've never been to Burlington, is it worth the drive? How about Ben & Jerry's and the Long Trail Brewery?

Things to Do in Vermont When You're Dead
There are lots of things to do in Vermont, but the question is do you have kids or can you behave like a kid?
Lot's of hiking, they do the slides down the mountain, which can be fun, Ben & Jerry's is especially good for kids, and you can look around for the various regional festivals. There is also a lot of arty stuff stashed away in the hills, and more if you go over to the Middlebury area. Burlington boasts a great kids book store (When Pigs Fly) and Sherborne Farms is worth doing in Burlington (and looks like a nice place to stay). The Eastern Townships just to the north in Canada have some high class spas and such, generally very nice, and there is also incredibly cheap furniture shopping in Canada. |
VT Firms
Just out of curiousity, are there any firms of substantial size in Vermont? If so, would someone list them?
Thanks |
Lay offs at Vermont's Largest Firm
Apparently the market is as bad in Vermont as in other places. Below is a story about lay-offs at Vermont's largest firm.
