And, to avoid editing my prior post once again, I will add now that I call them sprinkles no matter what their color, and think that people who call them jimmies are freakish assholes.
Because the guy in college who insisted that's what they were called was a freakish asshole. Who taught his infant child to hit cats pretty hard while saying "pat pat!"
