Diamond Resale

Now that I need to sell it, I am freaking b/c the local jewerly store said they'll give me $3,500 for the both of them, yet the appraisal on the engagement ring alone was almost 9K in the mid nineties. I was hoping for more. I know that if I sell to the end user/buyer I will probably get more, but I'm skeptical about selling it on ebay. What if the buyer claims he didn't get it and sues me? Is there some escrow agent or something we use?

Any ideas on how a ring would sell if it's a very classic emerald cut (excellent clarity) with emerald cut baguettes on each side, total amount of carats about 1 1/2, in a platinum setting? Anybody wanna buy a ring?
Not so much, but do you know whether he'd give a good price on the large screen TV?
