Like it or not, that's the way the game is played these days. Check out W's attack ads, like the one on Kerry wanting to "gut" our intel budget by voting against reauthorizing some godforsaken CIA program back in the early 90s. Or do you not take the W campaign seriously? A welcome development, but I doubt that's your point.
