I'd quit. I have never worn socks except in winter and with suits (except the seersucker). Nothing is more confining than a pair of socks. They are only necessary if you have bad foot odor.
I have actually asked about the sock thing as joke in interviews. I really, really hate them. Perhaps more than underwear. In fact, I'd sooner wear underwear everyday than socks in warmer months.
