Over the weekend, the Sox radio guys were talking about some new prospect, who's been tearing it up in the minors. They made an interesting comment, how you want a guy to dominate a league before you bring him up to the next level. Nomar was pathetic at Pawtucket and should be sent back down. If you have to play yourself into shape, don't be doing it in the majors. I thought Francona was smarter than that.

I think you make an interesting point. The player should dominate the minors befor going to the next level. Alternatively, look at Hideki Matsui. He was touted as the home run king of the Japanese league. When he got here, he did not perform the home runs initially as advertised, but then people started to notice what a well rounded all around player in general he is. Then he got into his groove and the home runs came....
