Wrong. Having done plenty of both, I can say that playing receiver may require more speed and strength, but I think that receiving a soccer pass in flight takes much more skill and coordination. Half-volleying a ball in the air? Not easy.

I also don't think soccer passing is nearly as difficult as football passing. In football you have to be absolutely on the mark. Have you ever tried to throw a perfect dart to a covered receiver? Shit, on the short-to-mid passes across the middle, you have to fire a stinger and on the long ones you have to measure the distance, speed of receiver and put just the right sizable amount of arm strength into it.
I don't necessarily disagree, although I don't think the two types of passing are comparable. I know a few uncoordinated guys who throw beautifully. One gets compliments by opponents all the time in flag football, and the guy looks like your accountant and is shaped like a pear. He throws a great ball though.

Its harder than throwing a perfect breaking ball, which is really hard. From what I've seen of soccer passes, guys just kick the ball within several yards of the guy they're passing too and hope he's open. Maybe I'm wrong, but it doesn't look nearly as complicated as football.
Throwing a football is fairly easy. Throwing a below-average breaking-ball is tough as shit. I pitched, and if you can just get your curveball over for a strike, you're above-average.

Regardless, I still think that football requires the most all-around athletic ability: strength, speed, coordination and skill. B/c strength isn't primary in either sport, I think soccer or basketball comes in 2nd.
