Music Question

I think the Cure is the "next band to emulate" in the retro/garage rock phenomenon. My wife's a Cure freak, so I bought her the new disc. I never liked the Cure too much (dug a few tunes here and there), but I really like their new record. "The End of the World" probably makes their hardcore old school goth fans cringe, but I defy anyone to find a catchier song this Summer. Its not a bad stab at rehashing "Just Like Heaven", and its kind of refreshing to hear Smith sing something upbeat.

I read an interview with Smith where he seemed an utterly normal, regular guy. He actually had some pretty funny comments about the fact that he's not an unhappy brooding person, but just a normal man who "occasionally wears makeup." I love it when entertainers say shit like this. My favorite is still Neil Young at his Rock and Roll Hall of fame induction saying "Everyone thinks I'm a sad guy, but I'm not... I've been riding in limousines for a long time" or when David Gilmour told the London press "Floyd wasn't that deep... its just pop music."
