Exactly. Annakin Skywalker was a Jedi, then became a Sith Lord and changed his name to Darth Vader, which seems to be a Sith naming convention - the red bad guy Sith in the first prequel was Darth Maul, and the head bad guy Sith is Darth Siddius (not completely sure of the spellings).
That's why I said I quible with it. It's not right, but it's not completely wrong.
To completely geek out, I would say that in the original trilogy it was implied that Sith are simply Jedi who have turned to the Dark Side, but as the Star Wars universe backstory has filled out in novels, comic books, cartoons, video games and the prequels, the relationship becomes a bit more complex: Maul was never a Jedi. It's unclear whether Count Dooku (who was Yoda's apprentice) in the second prequel is actually Sith or just a Jedi who's turned evil. Under the original trilogy that would be a distinction without meaning, but there seems to be a rule now that there can only be two Sith at any one time.
But I'm still not giving the guy next to me a hug at the announcement of
anything Star Wars related.
