I could see that, but it seems like it might cause sliding off or sideways or something. Not predictable. Not like pulling on hair when doing it doggy style. Plus, it seems like it would be nearly impossible to keep one's back arched when one is doing all the work from the top and there's nothing handy/at the right height to rest one's hands on for leverage. Maybe if you pulled the coffee table in close and weren't really sitting on the lap, but more in the lap but had basically none of your weight on the lap.
Which sounds very uncomfortable, but then, I'm not in that great shape right now.
The on the lap itself sounds doable. Just not the on the lap with the back arched.
