So a friend of mine is up visiting from Houston. He says I should come to visit sometime. I have never been to Texas. He says Houston's a pretty nice place. Except for the oppressive humidity and the bugs. He also tells me that San Antonio would be a fun vacation destination. But, I've had another friend who lived in San Antonio tell me that there's nothing but cactus and scorpions in San Antonio. Who's right?

San Antonio -- nice weekend trip if you are close enough to hop a quick Southwest flight. Riverwalk, alamo, etc. takes about a day or a day and a half to cover. I can't imagine what you would do there for a longer vacation. Maybe with kids - SeaWorld, etc. I would think it would be kind of dull for adults without kids, but what do I know?
