two good friends of mine went to surf camp in Costa Rico a couple of years ago and loved it (and in particular loved the young latino surf instructors). if there are competing camps, I can find out what one they went to if you care to know. I also have a friend who went through dive instructor certification in Costa Rico within the last couple of years. He was taking a break from working and spent about 6 months down there. I can talk to him about worthwhile things to do also if you like. I think he spent some of that time inland in the rainforests as well.
