They certainly aren't endangered in my town. There's a park about a mile away that has a year-round population of them. They do nothing but shit all over the ground and make a mess. I've been tempted to let my newly-adopted pit bull off his leash to see what happens -- unfortunately he would probably opt for chasing a child or dismembering another dog (he isn't gay -- he hates male dogs).
