Sharp guy, up-and-comer nationally, fairly moderate approach. Absolutely despised by the Wellstone crowd, of course.
Norm used to be a Dem. He was mayor of St. Paul, but the Dems froze him out because of a few of his positions. (Think "abortion".) So, he switched to Repub. Ran a decent campaign against Wellstone, and then a brilliant one-week campaign against Mondale. I think he goes down this next time, if only because he dared to say less-than-worshipful things about The Holy Wellstone and so is Satan to many, but I think he'll pop up somewhere else.
