The Owners of Lawtalkers?
I was just noticing a little thing that popped up when I logged in. It asks me to click on agree if I want to post. Here is the last paragraph of it:
"The owners of LawTalk Forums have the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason."
This is the first time I saw this. The timing is funny, no? Was this planted today by a certain someone? Who OWNS these forums anyway and at what point in time did they become owners? Thats not how this thing was started as I recall. Furhter, if the owners are admins and they violate the terms of service, repeatedly, who is going to police them? Apparently nobody.
So, please tell us, since I cant find it anywhere on the site,
1) Who owns Lawtalkers exactly?
2) When did this become a private incorporated enterprise?
3) Is this enterprise for profit? For example, if the amount of donations were to exceed the amount of costs to run the joint, where would those proceeds go exactly? How can you ask for proceeds to fund this place without disclosing that its owned by a couple of posters?
Now I know why Slave was trying to change the subject to donations. I thought it was just bad debate tactictry, but it was an effort to get a little payola. now that I know that you cannot be removed as admin bc you apparnelty are an owner, I will change my ultimatum. You can take my donations as good will or intangible assets. Far more vaulable than cash to this little enterprise since this board is boring without me.
But I gotta say, given this deception, and the fact that yoiu also crepreatedly violate the TOS, I dont feel real fucking safe posting here at the moment.
