But the issue wasn't current, it was past use. If she's convicted of past use, around Sydney, then she would be banned retroactively. She's being tested plenty now, and if she's still taking, she's obviously calculated that the risk of taking and getting caught by a test at the olympics is worth it.
As for hoops, we could have won either of two ways: 1: Get a better set of NBA style players to go. If Shaq, Kobe, and others go we probably do win. This was mostly second string. 2: Take NBA players who would fit the international mold, even if they're not the top NBA players, and send them. THat's what every other country does. We could win that way too.
I think this is what it must be like living in Brazil, Italy, or Germany when your team goes to the World Cup and sucks it big time.
