A strange guy I knew in college made me listen to Quadrophenia while tripping and taking bong hits from a 10 ft bong (yes, the idiot had built one... for what reason I had no idea - it was a horrible instrument) and watching fractal patterns on his computer. At that time, a buddy had stolen my mountain bike and I was stuck at this guy's house (long walk uphill to my fraternity house), watching fractals and listening to Townsend's self-indulgent lyrics and bloated songs for what seemed like forever. It did psychic damage to me. I'll never listen to it again, even though Entwhistle is phenomenal on it.
I feel the same way about the Wall. Waters is so ridiculous. The record sounds like it was written by an adolescent with emotional problems. Thank God he got it right by acting like an adult on The Final Cut.
