That's just how jurors think. When one side proves the other side actually made up documents, well the side of fraud losses the whole case. Maybe Cali juries are more willing to understand motives, so you have different experiences.

This is why we tell witnesses not to lie. But when one witness lies, and you still have several more witnesses and a pile of documents supporting your case, and the other guy has nothing and is doing a softshoe routine to distract the jury, you're usually in pretty good shape.
