Alright, I'm one of the view Yes votes it appears. But, you know, the few things my wife to wear during pregnancy that she liked were very big deals. They were among her most loved clothes ever.
A good alternative -- a weekend away with her sister at a Spa before the baby arrives. It will be a long time before it happens again, and I understand that some spas have special stuff for pregos (and that there is other stuff pregos are supposed to avoid).

I was so freakin' huge with the Lexling that I would have hated anything that someone else bought if it didn't fit perfectly. And I hated anything that touched my stomach, (which was admittedly anything within about a 3' radius). I am tall and hard to fit for that reason anyway.
Assuming the BRSister is short, it may not be a big deal to buy her things. The weekend (or day) away is good, if she can offload the other child(ren) - so long as she stays out of hot tubs, of course. Or, offer to take in the BRNieces/BRNephews and send sis away for the day or send her and BIL out on a nice dinner/show date
by themselves - a true luxury.
