Blue won't warm it up, and is not a good color for kitchens because it is considered unappetizing.
Because there's not a lot of wall space, I encourage you to try Benjamin Moore's Spanish Red or something very similar. It's a warm red, not too blue but definitely not too orange. It looks absolutely fabulous with matte grey and black, and it warms up all the white in my kitchen. (My cabinets are Swiss Coffee white; I have white appliances with charcoal gray accents (i.e., burner grates); and my countertop will be a dark gray with tan/black flecks.) It looks equally great in sunlight and under incandescent light (I don't have a single fluorescent light in my home, so can't tell you how that will work).
Plus, it will stimulate the appetite -- it may just inspire you to have sex on your black and white counters, especially with a dark haired man (they look good in red).
Don't be afraid of the red, sweetheart. It's a fantastic color for even a small kitchen. Just buy a quart, or one of those 2 oz. Benjamin Moore samples, and try it.
And use Benjamin Moore paint. The finish is better than Behr's.
If it were up to me (it's not), my entire apartment would be painted some kind of deep red.
But that is b/c I am so passionate and romantic.
