Unfortunately, the resulting press conference was held in Klingon, the only word of which I currently speak is "K'plah," and as chance would have it I had lent my Babelfish to Bilbo so he could go undercover with the dawrves or elves or whatever, so I do not know whether the smiting had the desired effect.
