I try and I try and I just can't get into Charlie Kaufman's (I think that is his name) flicks. I thought Adaptation was "eh". And Being John Malkovich (not sure this is a Kaufman movie), which is similar, did little for me. This bothers me because people discuss these movies around me, particularly how profound ESSM was, and I feel like I'm missing some section of my brain. I understand them, but I just can't get into them. I want to... I really want to. is there an exercise that could help me along?

Have not seen Eternal Sunshine and have no desire to - also didn't see Being John Malkovich and have no desire to (he drives me crazy, so I wouldn't want to see a movie about being him). I did see Adaptation and felt curiously detached during the whole movie. I don't see what the big deal is either. Perhaps peyote would help?
