I think it's different for every person/couple, but getting married doesn't necessarily preclude it. For me, it was precluded to some extent.
But in any event, I dont' think there's any inconsistency. When you get married, you purportedly give up having sex with everyone but the person you married. You give up having sex with everyone but your spouse, irregardless (hi whoever!) of gender.
