I don't care if people pronounce things incorrectly and I try not to correct people's pronunciations b/c I always feel like a flaming asshole when I do. But I hate when people who don't know what they're talking about try to correct my pronunciation.

Would it annoy you if you were talking about Houston street to someone visiting N.Y. and they smiled condescendingly at you and corrected your pronunciation? And then told you how "cute" your accent is?
