I see. So A-Rod didn't even have time to think about that slap -- it was just some sort of involuntary twitch or something that reveals nothing about his character. Got it.

What the fuck are you talking about?
The guy reached out for him and he slapped the glove away. He did it on purpose and then he argued that he didn't. He is a horrible, horrible person. I assume you petitioned the Sox to get rid of Pedro for trying to hit people in the face? Didn't think so. No? Not even after he lied about it in interviews after to avoid a fine and suspension? That can't be.
Anyone who argues that that play was a big deal is looking for something in nothing.

The whole thing was almost mythic. Game 6. Late innings. Jeter on base, hoping someone else on the team will rise to the occasion. Schilling is out of there and the Yankees are batting against a former Pittsburgh Pirate with cornrows who looks like a Tony Clark sneeze would send him into the stands. Their last chance before Foulke shows up. A-Rod hits his squibber to the pitcher, and slaps at Arroyo's glove. Then, after he's been called out, he tries to show the umpire he was just running.
You can keep overanalyzing any little part of this to try to defend your pussy, but it was what it was.

Ha. Nice framing. Poor little Arroyo. So little and girlish. Shouldn't be playing with the big kids. He weighs only 16 pounds. Big bad ARod hit him right in the arm -- oops, no. The glove. He struck his glove! Oh no! What? He's not apologizing and writing Arroyo a check for pain and suffering? But he's so rich! The horror! The Sox got the call anyway? What? Jeter was out at second and it turns out worse for the Yankees? Jeez. How else can we find a way to bitch and moan and whine over a play that amounts to nothing?
Jesus. Pathetic.
