QEFTSG jumps the shark
I'm utterly speechless:

Red Sox are out ... of style, that is. 'Fab Five' fashion a show by cleaning up Boston's scruffiest players in Fort Myers
By Francesca Donlan
The Boston Red Sox may have won the World Series, but some of the players strike out at fashion.
Just look at all that hair on Johnny Damon. Kevin Millar looks a little shaggy, too. And Tim Wakefield, Doug Mirabelli and Jason Varitek could use some style savvy.
Call this a fashion 911.
So the wives of these superstars turned to the fashion and style police known as the "Fab Five." The outlandish, chic and out-of-the-closet men have become a pop-culture sensation by helping their heterosexual counterparts pair their Helmut Lang cotton-stretch suits with Kenneth Cole shirts and ties on the Bravo TV show "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy."
"They wanted them to look more championship worthy," said David Metzler, executive producer of the award-winning Bravo reality show.
Carson Kressley and his four co-stars — Ted Allen, Kyan Douglas, Thom Felicia and Jai Rodriguez — are in Fort Myers until Thursday transforming some Red Sox players into the "world champions of style."
"I feel better about myself already," Damon said jokingly on Monday at the City of Palms Park as his hair fell on his face.
For the uninitiated, the "Fab Five" each week find a fashion-challenged straight man in dire need of help. Such an assignment requires a massive makeover — grooming, fashion, cooking, culture and decor.
Once the Fab Five have their way with the subject of the makeover, he's put to the test. He has to showcase his stylish new self and newly spruced digs to the object of his affection, friends or family.
No one is sure what style changes are in the Sox players' futures, but Damon is game.
"You look absolutely tribal right now," Kressley said, running his fingers through Damon's dark, long locks.
Kressley also was up for the assignment. After all, he is the style savant.
"I love a team named after a fashion accessory," said Kressley, wearing a pink shirt, white embroidered pants and pink loafers.
Unlike shows where they make over regular Joes — remember the lawyer whose super-glued toupee they pried off? — the Fab Five can't go all out with the BoSox. They aren't exactly "typical" cases, Rodriguez said.
"They're guys' guys," Rodriguez said. "But they should look like champions."
The Sox may not have the fashion sense of champs, but they know how to work the limelight.
The Sox have hit Hollywood full force these days.
Last month, Oprah Winfrey made actor Jamie Denton's dream come true by arranging to have the "Desperate Housewives" hunk work out at the Red Sox training facility. Then last week, actors Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon flew to Fort Myers to pose with Damon for the cover of "Entertainment Weekly." Barrymore and Fallon were promoting their upcoming movie, "Fever Pitch," a romantic comedy about a man's obsession with the Red Sox. Best-selling author Stephen King and singer James Taylor also have watched the Red Sox in the past month.
All the attention made Larry Lucchino realize one thing.
"This is not your grandfather's spring training," said the Red Sox president/CEO as he watched the players interact with their television hosts.
The players know it, too.
"This era is different," Damon said. "We're a loose bunch of guys, and we have fun, and that's the way we roll."
