You need to read deeper, and between the lines.

1. It's not called $100,000 Pyramid anymore; just Pyramid.
2. You play with a celebrity; at half-time you switch and play with the other celebrity. In that sense, you get two celebrities as your "partners," during the game.
3. On the show on which I appeared, Ed Begley Jr. lost both his matches; the other celebrity (Kathy Nijimy) was wayyyy better, though she did get us disqualified from winning the $10,000 in the Winner's Circle by saying one of the words that was in the clue.
