"Flip cup" or "flippy cup" (as they apparently say in Coltrane's neck of the woods) is a very complicated drinking game. You divide into two teams and each team lines up on each side of a table. You pray that I am on your team. Everyone puts a little beer in their plastic cups. The first person for each team starts off by drinking the beer in his/her cup, then placing the cup on the edge of the table and flicking the bottom of the cup until it flips over and lands upside down on the table. Once the cup has landed upside down, the second person on the team can go - i.e. drink her beer and try to flip her cup over. It's a race. The team that loses has to drink. It gets very competitive.
