If he's sad, do something else that would be nice (like buy him a video game he would enjoy or something) for him some other time. Don't connect anything to your marriage or your anniversary or you and him in any way. You want your marriage to be over. You don't want him thinking there are residual feelings that mean you are in any way open to the idea of the two of you getting back together. People seize onto these things, ignoring everything else to the contrary. Especially when they're all sad and shit.
