I heard about this abomination on the radio this morning while I was getting dressed, and nearly fell over while stepping into my pants. A dictionary sanctioning the INVENTION OF NEW WORDS?!? Why, it very nearly gave me the vapors (whatever that means).
In fact, when the broadcaster mentioned that "lingweenie" was a favored new word, I thought to myself (as a matter of fact, I think I even said it aloud -- though I was alone at the time...), "Huh -- well, that would be me, I guess."
Yes, I'm a lingweenie, and PROUD OF IT, dammit.
