Loath as I am to wade into this debate, for I am sure it would be a timesink of woolly mammoth proportions, my curiousity nonetheless compels me to ask -- Hank, was the word "symbiosis" never mentioned in your 10th grade presence? Because if it wasn't your teacher was mailin' it in, baby.
As it was 10th grade, I think we all agree that the absence of discussion of "endosymbiont" can surely be excused.
