Spend. Spend it like there's no tomorrow, and if you run out and can't find a new outlet for that green fuel, screw the govt for every nickle of support you can get. Logically, there's no reason to do anything else. like Frank Zappa said, "Legacies are for people who give a shit." None of it matters in 100 years.
I will die leaving the govt with a burial bill. I'd never have it any other way.

It's not spending it that's the issue - it is accumulating enough that I can quit and live off the income and not have to come crawling back to this profession in ten years.
But, seriously, I am
this close. I am seriously considering quitting after my bonus this year, selling my place and renting something cheaper, and living off the nut. And, even if I do slowly dig into the principal - I will enjoy the next few/several years. Like you say - better to spend it now, and then return to work when I am a decrepit mess, and can't do the things I would do now. I could keel over tomorrow, given my lifestyle, and I would hate to leave it unspent.
