I thought it was:
"He tells you he's leaving to climb Everest, when really he's holed up in some cougar's condo on South Beach. You love him. You plan welcome back party for him and 100 of his friends. He hears about it and decides he doesn't want to fight over not going to get his own cake when he returns. He doesn't love you anymore and probably didn't well before he left."
Sound more realistic?
