Urban myth. Just as silly as the old belief that Guinness had more calories than regaulr beer (Turns out it has less). That bitter taste of SB coffee has nothing to do with caffiene content. I've heard from the guy at Starbucks that their coffee actually has slightly LESS caffiene than others because the over-roasting of the beans which gives it bitter taste lowers the caffeine level in much the same way the overbrewing of Guinness wipes out excess sugar found in lighter beers. But as long SB coffee tastes stiff, people will think its got more caffiene.
