I find myself oddly fascinated by sea otters. I can't willingly walk away from a tank full of them.
During my scuba certification open water dives in Monterey Bay, my instructor frequently warned us that the sea otters were known to steal masks right off the faces of divers. I spent all day on hyper-alert look-out for sea otters. And had a mental picture of a sea otter, floating around on its back, my mask up on its forehead, laughing at me.
I learned 2 things that day. My scuba instructor had a mean sense of humor. I will never dive in water that cold again.
