I really don't think Oprah experiences racism anymore, ever. I don't think the clerk would have said that to her face, but last time I was in France, I, my white friend and a dark-skinned N. African who was staying in our hotel were turned away from some club. When my white friend went back to find out if he could jedi-mind-trick his way in, he was told that he and I could come in, but the N. African could not. I was not mistaken for a N. African, though and it wasn't Club Hermes that turned us away.
