Which brings up a point. My friend told me last night that this guy that she went on a date with (he's 24) was shocked when she told him her age (30) and now she thinks he's no longer interested - notwithstanding that I was there when they met and they seemed to really like each other and she said that the date went really well until he found out her age. I've never found a guy to be spooked by an older woman, especially before any sex was had, so I was a little surprised. Six years does not seem like too much.

It isn't. The guy's probably intimidated. 24 year old women are generally bags of cats. 30 year old women have seen a bit more and might scare off a guy who's used to (or likes to) have control in his relationship.
Being a lazy fuck who'd much rather take a free ride than control anything, I have always loved the older ladies.
