I think that I'm jaded on the subject, since the goddamned development/contractors lobby here in Texas have made it so homeowners associations can circumvent homestead laws and take people's houses away. The foreclosure process is a lot quicker if you don't pay your HOA fees than if you don't pay your taxes. Tex. Prop. Code 204 and Inwood North vs. Harris, 736 SW2d 632 (Tex.1987)
