The Yahoo article didn't mention the fair housing act, but they did mention a lot of pissed off gays and lesbians. It sounds terrible.
I think, though, that Morgan Spurlock's "30 Days" on FX is excellent. He puts people in different communities for 30 days to live. In the first episode, he and his girlfriend left the Oscars and lived on minimum wage for 30 days. In the most recent episode, a nice Christian young man from West Virginia moved to Dearborn, Michigan for 30 days to live in a large Muslim community. The people in his show don't seem to be extreme examples of any member of a community.
