I also watched Megastructures on National Geographic about how that island airport they built in Japan is sinking. Fast. Apparently in the first 5 years it was open, it sunk 26 feet. That was what they projected for more like 40 years when they built it. Oops. Megastructures might just make my Tivo list. I need to watch a couple more episodes before I decide.

Hiltons. Can't decide if it's mediocre or sucks ass completely. The casting is extremely odd, in that the people are entirely dysfunctional, which makes for plenty of cringe-inducing moments, but not much more. Far better if they had made an effort to find some diamonds in the rough. But these are all hopeless CZs. The remarkable part was watching Kathy, Paris, and Nicole gamely put on a sincerely happy face in dealing with them. BTW, were they told they had five minutes to pack before coming to NYC? Now, I understand that a hick from a cattle ranch isn't going to have couture, but they're wearing sweats, flipflops, baseball hats, football jerseys, and worse to polo matches and celebrity auctions. Doesn't everyone have at least some decent sunday clothes they could wear for this event? Couldn't NBC team up with Tommy Hilfiger to get some decent threads for them?
Megastructures. Should be fun, but I was extremely disappointed by the one on the autobahn. About five minutes of footage that they recycled throughout the show. Some interesting bits, but for the most part not. On the other hand, there was some show, but maybe not megastructures, showing how a North Sea oil platform was built, towed out to sea, and mounted. Fascinating. A job I would not want to have is a North Sea platform roughneck.
