Agreed. If I recall, the last 15 years they've invited the publinx champ. Not short enough a period to back away from the policy now.
But the issue with the masters is not with letting women play in the tournament (none have qualified), it's that the club doesn't have female members. It was the same thing with Lee Elder (I think it was)--no black members, but he played in the tournament (and Shoal Creek, and every other club at some point). It does expose some hypocrisy, but it won't resolve the issue. Wie can play, as women have before as guests (including, I think S. D. O'Connor), but they still can't become members.
